Applied for the subsidy!

Hello everyone!

Starting yesterday 9 am, the residents in the Netherlands could apply for a subsidy if they bought or private leased an electric car on or after January first of this year. Of course, me being me, I was ready at 8:55 to apply. A relatively simple process, if it weren’t for the server overload, I think I’ve had to reload different pages at least 15 times, making the entire process take a grand total of 54 minutes. Luckily I didn’t have to submit any further attachments, as that would have led to more complications. Someone I know started the process later in the day and it took him only three minutes, maybe next time I should spare myself that stress.
What’s interesting to know is that this subsidy also applies to used electric vehicles and that amount is the same as last year. The amount for new cars decreases every year, so if you live in the Netherlands and are planning on getting an EV, this year would be a good year. Also, this year will bring a lot of interesting new electric vehicles that are not as costly and have good range.
